The Apparel Industry is a category of the light manufacturing sector and is generally regarded as one of the pathways to industrialization owing to the relative speed with which it can be set up and the large impact on employment generation. In Ghana the industry got a strong starter boost when Ghana obtained preferential access to the US market under AGOA and was given support by Government under the President’s Special Initiative.
